Team-Based Learning pre-conference workshops & Threshold Concepts Conference

The RAISE Network (Researching, Advancing & Inspiring Student Engagement) has brought to our attention that The European Team-Based Learning Community (ETBLC) is delighted to offer University colleagues and RAISE members the opportunity to learn about and experience Team-Based Learning (TBL), by booking onto 1 or 2 of the pre-conference workshops they are offering during Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th June 2019 at the University of Dundee.

Team-Based Learning is ‘a special form of active and collaborative learning using a special sequence of individual work, group work and immediate feedback to create a motivational framework in which students increasingly hold each other accountable for coming to class prepared and contributing to discussion’. It’s effectively a structured approach to flipped learning that creates an incentivised framework for students to prepare for, attend and contribute actively in classes. For more information see http://www.teambasedlearning.org/

There is the opportunity to attend two workshops on either a beginners pathway (if you’re new to TBL) or an  advanced pathway (for more experienced TBL practitioners) all for a minimal cost of £50. Please click on the links for further information.

These pre-conference workshops are offered the day before a ‘Threshold Concepts in Action Conference’ on Thursday 27th June with Professor Ray Land as the keynote speaker . If you are interested in this event then the link to book this is here.
